He is the film critic for the “New York Review of Books/La Rivista dei Libri” as well as the cultural correspondent for “La Repubblica”. He has curated shows for the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Lincoln Center, the American Museum of Moving Image, and the Academy. He is the US representative of Italia Cinema. His book on American Cinema entitled “La Magnifica Illusione/The Magnificent Illusion” won the Efebo d’Oro as the best cine book of 2003. He also wrote “Do you believe?” (Vintage 2007).

Principle photography for this project was completed in October.

Robert Duncan grabbed some additional b-roll for the documentary in May at the Pauline family’s motherhouse in Rome, the Queen of the Apostles Basilica.

This project was commissioned by the pastor of St. Paul, Rev. John Allen, in January.

This film is approximately 10 minutes in length and features interviews with some of St. Paul’s parishioners, many of whom have been attending the parish since its founding in the 1970s.

Founded before the Great Schism that separated the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches in 1054, the Abbey maintains many aspects of the life and practice of the East, while at the same time being in full communion with the Church of Rome.

Monks of the Iron Gate is a production of Orientale Lumen Television and was shot and edited by Robert Duncan in July 2010. It is available for purchase through Orientale Lumen Television.

During the weeks leading up to Easter, a series of statues depicting the Stations of the Cross that were produced by Domus Dei lined Via della Conciliazione, the road leading to St. Peter’s Basilica.

Robert Duncan of Kindly Light was commissioned by the Pauline family to film these statues.

This program, produced Robert Duncan for Orientale Lumen Television, highlights some of the most beautiful eastern-style churches in Italy. This documentary was shot in July 2010 on location in Rome and Ravenna.

Orthodox: Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, Rev. Peter Gillquist

The film has a soft release date of June 2012.
